In the Wildschönau Valley there are 19 ancient estates.
The honourable title ‘Erbhof’ means that the estate has been
in the same family for at least 200 years.
A well preserved document dated 1701 with the family crest authenticates the origins of the Dorferwirt.
The Dorferwirt is the only estate in the Wildschönau
with documented proof of an uninterrupted male family line.

The traditional guesthouse has a long family history.
The landlord of the ‘village inn’ has to have many strings to his bow.
He is not only a publican but a farmer, a butcher, a dairyman,
and a convivial member of various clubs and societies,
as well as a family man and a true Tyrolean.

Andre Schoner VII and his wife Erika run the family business
today and Andre VIII is already at agricultural college in St Johann preparing to follow in his father’s footsteps as heir to the Dorferwirt!
