Erbhof "Dorferwirt" in Oberau
A Family History since 1685
The walls of the Dorferwirt are traditional and steeped in history. They would have a lot to tell. Our hereditary farm has been in the hands of our Schoner family since 1685. As a family business, we are happy to personally take care of the well-being of our guests.
Our traditional inn has a very long history, and as a Dorferwirt, you are not just a host, but also a farmer, family person, butcher, cheesemaker, sociable club member, and of course a true, tradition-conscious Tyrolean.
Excerpt from the letter of arms
“I, Franz Prugger, Count Palatine of the Holy Lateran Palace, Comes Palatinus, publicly grant with this letter, with the right that the papal holiness Innocent XI (1611 to 1689), derived from God, has granted me, that I (honest and honestly honest) persons, whom I deem worthy and who are devoted to the Holy Universal Roman Catholic Church, to award a coat of arms with shield and helmet and to make him a feudal associate and so also to raise the honorable gentlemen Christian Schoner Wirth and Gastgeb zu Dorf in the upper Wiltschenau, the Lordship Rattenberg and archducal County of Tyrol into the number of coat of arms associates and grant him the following coat of arms:
namely a white and silver shield, first with a green hill, on which an ascending, leaping ibex, with a striking tongue, above it a half ibex between two buffalo horns decorated and entwined with red and silver ribbons flying behind.
This coat of arms shall also be borne by his legitimate body heirs and their hereditary heirs, male and female persons, for all eternity in matters of disgrace and seriousness, in strife and storms, battles, skirmishes and banners, tent pitching, stamps and jewels and paintings, to sit in court, to draw judgment and to speak justice, like all other comrades of the Holy Roman Empire.
However, if someone else bears this coat of arms without authorization, he shall forfeit the heavy disfavor of his papal holiness and whoever does this wantonly must pay a penalty of 40 marks of lotigs gold, half to the Holy Roman Imperial Chamber and half to me, as the injured party.
Done in the archducal Tyrolean residence city of Innsbruck on the third day of the month of August after the gracious birth of Christ our Savior in the year one thousand seven hundred and second.
(August 3, 1701)
Franz Prugger
Comes palatinus ob supra”
